Greetland is situated within the metropolitan borough of Calderdale, West Yorkshire. The origins of Greetland may trace back to a Roman settlement, potentially named Cambodunum. This stems from the discovery of a Roman alter stone dating back to 208AD, found in 1597 at Top Bank in Greenland.

There are a number of landmarks, including Clay House and Calderdale Way, to be found in Greetland.
